College of Computing and Information Women in Technology (CCIWIT)
CCIWIT (College of Computing and Information Women in Technology) is dedicated to supporting, empowering, and building community among the faculty and graduate women within CCI and encouraging girls and women to pursue undergraduate and graduate studies in the fields related to computer science, informatics, and information science.

- Technology Leaders of Today Speaker Series—CCIWIT sponsors women in various aspects of computing to speak about their work and experiences. Check out the videos available online now (RSS and iTunes Podcast)! Please stay posted about additional upcoming events!

- Grace Hopper Celebration of Women in Computing Scholarships—CCIWIT has sponsored students to attend the Grace Hopper Celebration of Women in Computing. Please contact Jennifer Goodall at jgoodall@uamail.albany.edu for details!
- Junior FIRST Lego League Expo—CCIWIT organizes and supports the Capital Region's only Expo for Junior FIRST Lego League teams. In 2008 we had 11 teams, in 2009 16 teams and are expecting over 20 teams in the 2010-2011 season. The Expo is a celebration of the 6-9 year old successes with technology and science.
- Social Robotics Workshop—CCIWIT and ILS partner to run workshop for middle and high school students, using NXT robots to introduce the concepts of robotics, programming and social robotics. See the SRW website for more details and to schedule a workshop.
- digigirlz—CCIWIT partners with Microsoft to host a day on campus for high school girls to experience tomorrow's technology and hear from the area's leading technology women.
- New York Celebration of Women in Computing—CCIWIT partners with Union College, Rochester Institute of Technology and Siena College to host a regional celebration of women in computing, modeled after the Grace Hopper conference. Women from across New York state are invited.
