Server Maintenance

It is occasionally necessary to bring down the network file servers provided by CAS Computing to perform maintenance. This will affect access to the College's network shares (such as the N:, O:, or R: drives) and network printers.

This is most often due to updates or patches for the server operating system. These are avilable as often as once a month. These updates and patches may be vital to network and server security thus making it extremely important to apply them as soon as possible. CAS Computing will attempt to give at least a 24 hour notices of any server downtime. Information regarding downtimes will be posted on our homepage and news page, in addition to a College-wide email.

ITS maintains the email servers - Exchange/WebMail, WebCT/Blackboard, IAS, Nolij, MyUAlbany, and many other services. Information regarding their scheduled downtimes is posted on the ITS Systems Maintenance page.
