Francelina Morillo is a senior double-majoring in Psychology and Biology at the University at Albany. She has just been selected to receive the Outstanding Senior Award, a President’s Award for Leadership. She was also recently selected as the Omicron Delta Kappa Leader of the Year.
Ms. Morillo has performed research under the guidance of Dr. Jeanette Altarriba (Psychology) in the Cognition and Language Laboratory and Dr. Christine Wagner (Psychology) in the Behavioral Neuroscience Laboratory. She currently works as a Research Assistant with Dr. John Schmidt (Biology) in the Neuroscience Laboratory. As a result of her work, Ms. Morillo has earned an endowed fellowship as well as the Presidential Award in Research.
Ms. Morillo is a Mentor for the Collegiate Science and Technology Entry Program. She is also a tutor for Academic Support Services. She is involved with Middle Earth and numerous other campus organizations. Ms. Morillo has received various awards and scholarships, including the Spellman Academic Achievement Award, the Dr. Carson Carr Scholarship, and the Fellowship for Mentored Undergraduate Research.
Ms. Morillo plans to obtain her MD/Ph.D. and become a neurosurgeon with a specialty in neuroscience research.
