LACS Scholarly Book Launch

 


The Department of Latin American, Caribbean, and U.S. Latino Studies (LACS), in collaboration with the Department of Women’s Studies, launched new scholarly books by Fernando Leiva and Patricia Pinho, faculty members in the LACS Department, and Christine Bose and Barbara Sutton, faculty members in the Women’s Studies Department with an affiliated faculty appointment in LACS. The launch took place in the University bookstore located in the Campus Center on Wednesday, March 24th. The featured texts included Fernando Leiva’s Latin American Neostructuralism: The Contradictions of Post-Neoliberal Development, Patricia Pinho’s Mama Africa: Reinventing Blackness in Bahia, Barbara Sutton’s Bodies in Crisis: Culture, Violence and Women’s Resistance in Neoliberal Argentina, and Global Gender Research: Transnational Perspectives, edited by Christine Bose and Minjeong Kim.
