Pulitzer Prize Winner to Speak at History Honor Society Event
Cornell University Professor Fredrik Logevall, who just won the Pulitzer Prize for History, will speaker at the 33rd Annual Phi Alpha Theta History Honors Society Annual Lecture and New Member Initiation Ceremony this Friday, April 19, 2013 at 3:00 p.m. in room 110 of University Hall. His winning book is Embers of War: The Fall of an Empire and the Making of America's Vietnam. The prize committee describes it as: "A balanced, deeply researched history of how, as French colonial rule faltered, a succession of American leaders moved step by step down a road toward full-blown war." A reception will immediately follow the lecture. The event is open to the public and is sponsored by Phi Alpha Theta - Delta Chi, the Department of History, and the Office of the Dean of the College of Arts and Sciences. April 2013 |
