Why Give to the College of Arts and Sciences?
The UAlbany Fund is the vehicle that enables alumni and friends to support the mission of the College through charitable, tax - deductible gifts to the College of Arts and Sciences Dean’s Fund for Excellence. Private gift support is essential to the future of the College because it provides us with resources to strengthen valuable ongoing programs and to identify and develop new priorities. Recruiting and retaining the best students and faculty and providing innovative learning opportunities are key to our future success. Your gift to the College of Arts and Sciences Dean’s Fund for Excellence is an investment in that future. It helps us achieve our vision by providing, for example:
- Financial support for high achieving students in need through scholarships, thesis research stipends, and conference travel grants
- Seed funding for innovative interdisciplinary research projects in the Life Sciences
- Lectures and conferences that bring the world’s most noted scientists, thinkers, leaders, writers, artists, and poets to campus
- Technology upgrades in classrooms and laboratories
