John Forsyth Book Receives ABCT Self Help Book Seal of Merit Award

John Forsyth

The Mindfulness and Acceptance Workbook for Anxiety: A Guide to Breaking Free from Anxiety, Phobias and Worry Using Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, by John Forsyth and Georg Eifert, has received the Associate for Behavioral and Cognitive Therapies (ABCT) Self Help Book Seal of Merit Award.  This program is an effort by the Association to educate the general public on the benefits of empirically supported treatment.  As an award winner, the book will be posted on ABCT’s web site and will be recognized at ABCT’s Annual Awards Ceremony in November.  Professor Forsyth, Department of Psychology, is an internationally recognized expert in the treatment of anxiety disorders and a leader in the growth of newer acceptance and mindfulness-based behavior therapies such as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). He serves as Director of the Anxiety Disorders Research Program at the University at Albany.
