Whitney Wilson

Originally from Brooklyn, New York, Whitney Wilson decided to attend the University at Albany for her college experience. Traveling away from home and entering a much more diverse surrounding has helped Whitney grow as an individual and has prepared her for a fast-paced world. Since her freshman year Whitney has worked as a Student Assistant for the College of Arts & Sciences Dean's Office. Working in the CAS Dean's Office has been a great experience for work-related and personal reasons

Entering the University at Albany in September 2004, Whitney is currently a senior majoring in Sociology and minoring in Criminal Justice and Psychology. A senior with two jobs, working in the CAS Dean's Office and the GAP Inc. at Crossgates Mall, Whitney keeps a busy schedule. Whitney also gives a lot of time to the University and the community. She is currently Academic Chair of Chi Alpha Epsilon Honor Society and a Math and English tutor for the UA-Albany High Alliance Program.

After graduation in May 2008, Whitney plans to remain at the University at Albany for a Master's Degree in Criminal Justice. Ultimately Whitney would like to work in a State position where she can help troubled teenagers with rehabilitation. Working with children and teenagers for six years has allowed Whitney to enjoy interacting and communicating with younger individuals. Whitney feels that she can make a difference given her dedication, experience, and time.
