Erin Duffy

Erin Duffy is a senior at the University at Albany, majoring in Biology and Psychology. She has spent the past three years working in a clinical psychology lab, and recently completed an honor’s thesis under the guidance of Dr. Edelgard Wulfert for which she received the Presidential Award for Undergraduate Research as well as Honorable Mention for the Vice Provost’s Award for Undergraduate Research. This year, part of her work was presented at the Association of Behavioral and Cognitive Therapies Research Convention, one of the largest research conferences in clinical psychology. Ms. Duffy has also received the Chancellor’s Award for Student Excellence.

Ms. Duffy is a member of four honor societies: the Presidential Honor Society, Psi Chi, Omicron Delta Kappa, and Phi Beta Kappa. Last year, she served as the vice president of Omicron Delta Kappa, heading on the selection committee, and also coordinated a blood drive for the honor society. She has also spent considerable time volunteering, working with Habitat for Humanity, the Samaritan Suicide Prevention Center, the Regional Food Bank, and most recently, the Mohawk and Hudson Valley Humane Society.  She also traveled to Quito, Ecuador last winter to volunteer with disadvantaged children through an organization known as Unión de Beneficios en Educación y Colaboración Internacional (UBECI).  Ms. Duffy plans to receive her V.M.D. and become a veterinarian specializing in small animals.
