Green Job Resources

Whether you are concerned about climate change, looking for a career field that is growing, or just love being outdoors, environmental or "Green" jobs may be right for you.

Below are some job sites you can use to find the right environmental job or to do some research on possible careers.

If you are not yet ready for a full-time job, check out some advocacy and non-profit groups where you can volunteer and learn more about environmental issues. Volunteering is a great way to build up experience on your resume.

    Sustainable businesses offer products and services that compete on price and performance while significantly reducing humankind's impact on the environment. This site is their Green Dream Jobs site.

  • Treehugger
    TreeHugger is a media outlet dedicated to driving sustainability mainstream. This is their job board.


  • The Apollo Alliance
    The Apollo Alliance is a coalition of labor, business, environmental, and community leaders working to catalyze a clean energy revolution that will put millions of Americans to work in a new generation of high-quality, green-collar jobs. It has a page for NY State initiatives and New York City initiatives.

  • Association for the Advance of Sustainability in Higher Education (AASHE)
    AASHE is an association of colleges and universities with a mission to promote sustainability in all sectors of higher education - from governance and operations to curriculum and outreach - through education, communication, research and professional development.
