Fitness Center

  • Housed in the SEFCU Arena.
  • Upon entrance to the lobby-level, the Fitness Center is located on the left.

Aquatic Center

  • Located in the Basement of the Physical Education Building.
  • Access to the pool is granted though the Physical Education general locker rooms/showers.

Group Exercise Studios

  • A majority of our Group Exercise Classes are held at our Dance Studio. The Studio is located on the 3rd floor of the Physical Education Building.
  • Our Spin studio is located in the Basement of the Physical Education Building as is our Functional Fitness Studio

Parking

Community Member Parking Pass

Office of Campus Recreation Community members are eligible to purchase a parking permit. The permit is only valid for the duration of the purchased Community Membership or August 31st each year (whichever comes first) and provides members of Campus Recreation access to the Athletic Complex (SEFCU Arena/Physical Education) parking lot. BE ADVISED parking is on a space available basis. Please see Community Member Parking Pass Exceptions and Got a Ticket? below for additional information.

Eligible and Interested?

Please go to the Parking and Mass Transit Office, located near the Chemistry Building in the Indian Quad Commons. Spaces are available in front of the Parking for the Parking and Mass Transit Office building for use while conducting business in said office. At the Parking and Mass Transit office, you must provide:

  • Original receipt for your Campus Recreation Community Membership purchase*
  • Campus Recreation Community Membership Card
  • $5.00 payment for parking decal (accepted forms of payment: cash, check, Visa, Master & Discover)

*If you misplace your receipt, Parking and Mass Transit may accept your membership card along with your driver’s license to purchase the $5.00 SEFCU lot parking decal.

Not Eligible?

You may purchase a Student parking decal which allows you to park in all Student parking lots. Student passes are also sold at the Parking and Mass Transit Office.

OR

Take advantage of the free two hour visitor parking (signage designates) located on the south end of the Dutch parking lot, near the outdoor basketball and tennis courts.

 

Community Member Parking Pass Exceptions

The UAlbany Athletic Department has an agreement with Mass Parking Transit and Services for "fee-based" parking at the Athletic Complex (SEFCU Arena/Physical Education) lot for a handful of events. This includes football, basketball and lacrosse home games, as well as special events such as Homecoming Weekend and Commencement. As these events are subject to change, we suggest checking UAlbany Athletics Venue page for up-to-date information and schedules or contact the Ticket Office (phone number listed below).

During the "fee-based" parking events, the Office of Campus Recreation and the Office of Parking Management have arranged for FREE membership parking (with current, valid tag) in the North end of Dutch Quad / Lot D.

Office of Campus Recreation patrons, visitors or rentals also have the option to pay to park in the Athletic Complex (SEFCU Arena/Physical Education) lot.

Got a Ticket?

The Office of Campus Recreation supports the University at Albany Parking Rules and Regulations. Any ticket received will need to be disputed at the Office of Parking and Mass Transit Services. Campus Recreation will not dispute a ticket on the behalf of the patron. The Office of Parking and Mass Transit is located near the Chemistry Building in the Indian Quad Commons area, on the east side. Parking spaces are available in front of the building, for use while conducting business in the Office. For more information on the Office of Parking and Mass Transit, please contact (518) 442-3121.

Directions

From the North

1. Take Interstate 87 (Northway) south to Exit 1E.
2. Off the exit, proceed to Interstate 90 east (Albany/Boston).
3. Take Exit 2, Washington Avenue. Cross Washington Avenue onto campus.
4. Follow University Drive, bearing right, one mile to SEFCU Arena. As you approach the SEFCU Arena, parking is to the right of the building (south side of the arena).

From the South

1. Take Interstate 87 (Thruway) north to Exit 24.
2. After the tollbooths, proceed onto Interstate 90 east towards Boston.
3. Take Exit 2, Washington Avenue.
4. Cross Washington Avenue onto campus.
5. Follow University Drive, bearing right, one mile to SEFCU Arena. As you approach the SEFCU Arena, parking is to the right of the building (south side of the arena).

From the East

1. Take Interstate 90 west towards Buffalo.
2. Leave interstate at Exit 2 (Fuller Road).
3. Turn left at Fuller Road and then take the next left at Washington Avenue. The University at Albany is on your right.
4. Follow University Drive, bearing right, one mile to SEFCU Arena. As you approach the SEFCU Arena, parking is to the right of the building (south side of the arena).

From the West

1. Take Interstate 90 (Thruway) east to Exit 24.
2. After the tollbooths, proceed onto Interstate 90 east towards Boston.
3. Take Exit 2, Washington Avenue.
4. Cross Washington Avenue onto campus.
5. Follow University Drive, bearing right, one mile to SEFCU Arena. As you approach the SEFCU Arena, parking is to the right of the building (south side of the arena).
