Jeremy Ortiz

Congratulations to the Campus Recreation employee of the month for March, Jeremy Ortiz! Jeremy is a freshman at UAlbany with a major in Business Administration. You might recognize Jeremy from the intramural sport fields and courts where he works as an Intramural Official. Jeremy is interested in recreation because sports have always been a part of his life. He thinks that working for Campus Rec is a great way to meet new people who have common interests and who enjoy playing sports and being active. After UAlbany, Jeremy plans on going into the sports business industry. Congratulations, Jeremy, and thank you for your hard work!

Jayvon Evans

Congratulations to the Campus Recreation employee of the month for February, Jayvon Evans! Jayvon is a senior at UAlbany and is majoring in Communications with a minor in Business. You might recognize Jayvon from his high energy Insanity class, or from the Campus Recreation Fitness Centers where he works as a Fitness Supervisor. Jayvon is interested in fitness and wellness because it has been a productive way for him to value and love himself. He enjoys continuously challenging his physical and mental limits and being responsible for motivating and inspiring himself and others. Jayvon considers fitness to be the core of his existence and loves being able to spread his fitness and wellness knowledge to as many people as possible. After graduation Jayvon plans to continue his fitness journey by teaching Insanity group fitness classes in Brooklyn. He also plans on getting his ACE personal training certification and a degree in Exercise Science.

Destiny Bender

Congratulations to the Campus Recreation Employee of the Month for November, Destiny Bender! Destiny works as a Member Service Representative in the Recreation Service Office. She always has a positive attitude and is willing to help whenever she can. For Destiny, fitness and wellness is her way of interacting with and getting to know her community and creating strong community building skills among her peers. After she completes her undergraduate degree from UAlbany she plans to stay here and pursue a Master’s in public health. Congratulations, Destiny!

Lanre Ajomagberin

Congratulations to our employee of the month for September Lanre Ajomagberin! Lanre is in his 2nd year as a Site Supervisor and is always picking up shifts and helping out the new students. He has picked up over 30 shifts since the middle of September. He is a quiet leader, but a favorite amongst the officials and his peers. Lanre enjoys his job, and works diligently for our IM and Club Sport Department. We are very fortunate to have him on our team.

Kevin Ogden

Congratulations to our employee of the month for September, Kevin Ogden! Kevin is a Fitness Assistant for Campus Recreation, working primarily in the Indian Quad Fitness Center and a Computer Science major and has a goal of getting a 4.0 this semester. Kevin is interested in fitness and wellness because it keeps him motivated and moving. He’s also noticed some serious benefits of his workout routine, including getting better grades and becoming more confident.

After graduating, Kevin plans on entering the field of Computer Science. Congratulations, Kevin!

Work Study Positions

All Campus Recreation work study positions are posted on the university’s work study site. To apply for a work study positions, students must have a federal work study award. To learn how to apply, click here

UAlbany Course Credit

Campus Recreation offers semester, year round, and summer internships! Many internships can be counted for course credit. Check out our internship choices below as well as some previous projects our interns have worked on.

Course Credit

Campus Recreation is a registered organization with the Community & Public Services Program (CPSP) on campus. Through this program students can complete 60-100 hours of services with Campus Recreation and receive 2-3 credits a semester for a total of three semesters. Students can also use CPSP to work with other organizations on campus or in the community. Visit their website here for more info.
