UAlbany ODK Chapter Hosts 2008 Capital Region Leadership Conference

ALBANY, N.Y. (February 21, 2008) – The University at Albany Circle of Omicron Delta Kappa (ODK) will host a seminar for Capital Region students on Sunday, February 24 to expand and strengthen their leadership and organizational skills. Albany Mayor Jerry Jennings will deliver the keynote speech at the conference, themed How I Became a Leader. Interim President George M. Philip will introduce Jennings in the Campus Center Ballroom at the UAlbany uptown campus at 2 p.m.

The University at Albany Circle of ODK was founded in 2003 to promote and develop leadership skills. With gatherings and activities, the steadily increasing ODK society offers opportunities for leaders from different areas of expertise to meet and work together.  The society recognizes leaders in the areas of scholarship, athletics, college and community service, social and religious activities, campus government, journalism, speech and mass media and creative and performing arts.

The conference will run from 10 a.m. until 3:30 p.m. The registration fee of $5 will go to support the American Cancer Society's Relay for Life.
