Media Advisory: UAlbany Dedicates Practice Field to Late New York Giants Co-Owners

Dedication of the University at Albany's football practice field in honor of Wellington T. Mara and Preston Robert Tisch, the late co-owners of the New York Giants.

  • John Mara, President and Chief Executive Officer, New York Giants; son of Wellington Mara

Thursday, August 16, 2007, 4 p.m.

Where:
SEFCU Arena parking lot, University at Albany, 1400 Washington Ave., Albany, N.Y.

Background:
The practice field is used by the Giants during summer training camp and the UAlbany football team during the academic year. Mara and Tisch were instrumental in making the University home to the Giants' summer training camp beginning in 1996. The Giants are committed to summer training at UAlbany through the summer of 2008 with an option year for 2009.
