Background:
Freehill's research focuses on understanding broader questions about access to science and engineering careers, especially in academia, for women and under-represented minorities in the United States. Her most recent article, "Measuring Occupational Sex Segregation of Academic Science and Engineering," is in the Journal of Technology Transfer.
Established in 2006, the Organization of Women Faculty (OWF), serves as a campus-based group through which faculty can identify and discuss issues that are especially relevant to women faculty at all stages of their career, such as equity, career advancement, child care, research support, life balance, mentoring or being mentored, and teaching.
