The University at Albany's annual spring campus clean up began with 100 volunteers in 1997 and has grown to over 400 volunteers pitching in time and energy to beautify the campus community for Commencement and enjoy camaraderie and morale building in the fresh air.
In 2006, volunteers spread 100 yards of topsoil, 140 yards of mulch, 300 pounds of grass seed; planted 40 flats of pansies and 54 trees; and rolled out 180 square feet of sod. In addition, they collected 203 yards of leaves and debris and 172 bags of trash and tires.
