events is posted in a plastic sign holder at each entrance to
the building.
What facilities are available?
Check here
for specific information.
How do I reserve Campus
Center facilities?
The Campus Center welcomes an average of more than
10,000 people each month to its meetings and events. Student groups
and organizations should stop into CC 130 and reserve space through
the Office of Student Involvement & Leadership. University offices
and departments and organizations external to the university should
contact Campus Center Facilities in CC 137 or call 442-5490.
Is there a charge? For the most part,
university entities are not charged for facility usage during
the weekdays. There is a modest charge for rooms & services
in the evenings, week-ends and/or when refreshments are served.
Again, call 442-5490 for specific information.
What’s up with those tables
in the lobby?
To foster interaction with the greater university
community, there is an opportunity for university recognized entities
to use tables in the Campus Center Lobby (& in fair weather
in the Campus Center Fountain area). These tables can offer information,
ticket sales, or other solicitations when sponsored & staffed
by a campus organization. Student groups should visit the Office
of Student Involvement & Leadership in CC 130. Non-student groups
should contact Campus Center Facilities directly @ (518) 442-5490.

What banking services
are available in the Campus Center?
Three banks have ATMs in the Campus Center - all
located on the ground floor, adjacent to the Food Court. They
include HSBC, Key Bank, SEFCU (State Employees Federal Credit
Union.), and First Niagra. The Banking Services operation cashes
payroll checks, bank checks, and most other checks - EXCEPT personal
checks. They receive Western Union transfers and sell Money Orders.
Where can I mail a letter
or buy stamps?
There are 2 mailboxes where "stamped mail"
is picked up each weekday (Mon. - Fri.) @ 2:30pm. They are located
(1) near the Food Court, across from Banking Services, and (2)
on the 1st floor between the rest rooms and the vending machines
in the Main Lobby / Main Lounge area. There is a stamp machine,
serviced by the USPS, at the 1st floor location. Stamps may also
be purchased at the Banking Services window.
Where are there televisions
I can watch in the Campus Center?
There is a TV Lounge on the 1st floor, in the
Danes After Dark Loung- just off the Main Lounge, offering the
University's cable stations. Also, in the Food Court, there are
3 televisions that are primarily set to news & sports channels.
Are there computers for
use in the Campus Center?
No… But students may use computers in Lecture
Center 3 & 4 and in the libraries. Also, there are 2 video
terminals, outside Student Accounts, where students can access
information regarding the status of their account.
Where do the admissions
tours begin?
While the tours pass through and spend time in the
C.C., they actually start from the Performing Arts Center @ 11am
& 1pm, 7 days per week while the University is in session. Check
the university's Undergraduate Admissions website for more tour
information and to make tour reservations:
http://www.albany.edu/admissions/undergraduate/campusvisit/
When do the fountains
turn on?
The University's fountains are turned on every
spring with the Fountain Day celebration during the last week
in April. They run daily through as late in October as the weather
permits.
Did President Bush actually
visit the Campus Center?
No, but President Clinton did in 1994. Also,
Jane Fonda filmed a movie scene from Rollover in the building
in 1981 because its architecture worked for its Middle Eastern
theme.
