Giving to the School of Business

Dear Alumni and Friends of the School of Business:

You have a strategic opportunity to invest in the future of the School—please enhance the value of your degree, through your support of the UAlbany School of Business. Our academic tradition is supported by the latest technology, real-world experience, a practical work ethic and an entrepreneurial vision of the future. We accomplish this with tried and true business practice: high quality at an affordable cost.

Our goal is to secure recognition as the leading public business school in the Northeast. To realize this vision, we need to attract the best students, promote groundbreaking faculty research, provide state-of-the-art facilities and foster entrepreneurship and business collaboration.

In May 2011, groundbreaking took place for the new School of Business Building. This 96,000-square-foot building will serve as a hub of learning and innovation in commercialization and entrepreneurship for business students and professionals throughout the Capital Region and New York State. The building will feature technologically advanced classrooms, expanded space for career services, collaborative research centers in technological and social entrepreneurship, cyber-security, and institutional investment management. We are also pleased that it will house a trading room on the first floor equipped with Bloomberg terminals. The building is expected to be completed in September of 2013.

Other objectives have been chosen to ensure a strong future for the School of Business:

  • Develop Honors and highly selective programs in Business and Accounting;
  • Increase corporate recruitment efforts in the School of Business’ own Career Services Office;
  • Expand and restructure the full-time and professional MBA curriculums;
  • Provide competitive stipends for the Organizational Studies program and additional support of research and endowed fellowships in each of the School’s academic departments.

Furthermore, there are other ways to Share the Wealth: offering a job or an internship, posting a position on our job board, or mentoring a student.

We are proud of the people who make our initiatives work: first-rate faculty, talented students and highly successful alumni. Applaud them today by supporting the UAlbany School of Business.
