Information Technology Management Associate Professor Sanjay Goel has won the 2010 President's Award for Excellence in Research for his work in cyber security and sustainable transportation.

Professor Shawky Ranked Top in Finance

Professor Hany Shawky, was recently ranked #550 in the world in the field of finance (out of over 9,000 academics), ahead of chaired professors at Harvard, Northwestern, Carnegie Mellon, Columbia, Rochester, and Ohio State.  The ranking appeared in paper entitled "Most Prolific Authors in the Finance Literature: 1959-2008," http://papers.ssrn.com/sol3/papers.cfm?abstract_id=1355675 ), which ranked academics on the basis of the number of publications they had published in the top 26 finance journals. 

Financial Frontiers Award

Associate Professor David Smith and School of Business alumnus William Desormeau Jr. won second prize in the Financial Frontiers Award for their project “Optimal Rebalancing Frequency for Stock-Bond Portfolios.”    

Excellence in Teaching

Assistant Professor Sanjay Goel was one of four full-time University at Albany faculty honored for Excellence in Teaching this year. The Information Technology professor is in good company.  Recent winners include business professors David Smith, Paul aul Morgan Jr. and Paul Morgan Sr.

Ballou & Pazer IQ Dissertation Award

Groundbreaking School of Business Associate Professors Emeritae Donald Ballou and Harold Pazer were honored with an international award established in their names: the Ballou & Pazer IQ Dissertation Award, at the 12th Annual International Conference on Information Quality. Ahead of their time, Drs. Pazer and Ballou were among the first to investigate information quality from the information system perspective. In the 1970s, Pazer designed and implemented graduate and undergraduate information technology management programs at the School of Business.

Accounting and Law professor Rated 5th in the Nation on Ratemyprofessors.com

Accounting and Law professor Paul Morgan Jr. is “five in a million.” The adjunct has been rated 5th in the country from a group of over one million faculty on RateMyProfessors.com second annual top ten list of Top-Rated Professors.

Vice Dean Linda K. is a Woman of Excellence

Linda Krzykowski ‘93, Vice Dean, MBA Programs, was named the Woman of Excellence in the Professions by the Albany-Colonie Regional Chamber of Commerce.  Only one woman per year receives this award.
