The Accounting Club

The Accounting Club complements the work of the accounting fraternity, Beta Alpha Psi , through guest speakers, volunteer work and study groups.

Officially formed by four friends as an Accounting 381 project, TAC was founded to increase awareness of opportunities available in the broad spectrum of the accounting field and related fields of finance and management information systems. Open to everyone, regardless of class year or major, the club especially encourages potential accounting, finance and management information systems majors to join.

The Accounting Club promotes understanding and interest of accounting and finance through speakers, conferences, networking, workshops, study groups and trips. The group has close ties to alumni, faculty and others employed in the accounting field, who offer programs on potential job opportunities in internal auditing, tax and estate planning, accounting operations, and other specialties. Seminars in career development have also been offered. The group has a strong commitment to study groups for accounting classes.

Members have supported of the community through volunteer work at Ronald McDonald House and Junior Achievement. As part of their Junior Achievement work, accounting students taught inner-city elementary school kids about the importance of staying in school. The club also sponsors the annual School of Business Faculty Appreciation Breakfast.
