School of Business Professor Named Best Associate Editor Award of Information Systems Research

Professor Giri Kumar Tayi has been awarded the Best Associate Editor Award of Information Systems Research, for the Institute for Operations Research and the Management Sciences. Professor Tayi is the longest serving associate editor, two three-year terms, of ISR since its inception twenty years ago. He is the first School of Business faculty member to serve on the editorial board of the premier academic journal in Information Systems.

School of Business Partners with Local Schools to Sponsor First Regional Business Plan Competition on Renewable Energy and Sustainability

The region’s first business plan competition with a focus on energy technology is a cooperative effort.   Sponsoring the contest with the School of Business are the UAlbany College of Nanoscale Science and Engineering, Rensselaer and Union College.  This spring, students are invited to submit business plans around a student-born innovation designed for a currently unmet need in the energy sector.  The top teams will present to a panel of investors, scientists, and energy industry executives.  Grand prize is $10,000.
