Combining course work and field study, the Marketing Concentration offers a focus on services marketing. The United States is the largest service economy and, according to the Labor Department, over 95% of the job growth between 2008 and 2018 is expected to be in the service-producing sector. This sector is very different from manufacturing and production and these differences require a different orientation compared to conventional marketing. The focus of the marketing concentration will be to build upon the characteristics of services, emerging trends, and allow students to focus on marketing practices better suited for services.
