Football and Accounting

Hometown: Penfield, New York

I chose UAlbany because…
I had good grades and was recruited by the Ivy Leagues, but I was invited to join the Direct Admit program and Albany is close to home in Rochester.

On accounting?
Accounting is specific but broad enough for opportunity. The first year of accounting came easily.  Last summer I interned at a CPA firm, Insero, and helped a school prepare for an audit, set up processes and reconcile accounts and financial statements.

Meek Sports trivia
I played baseball and soccer growing up, but at the end of football season, I always wanted to play more football. I’m the first collegiate athlete in my family. My family comes to every game.

What I’m proud of
Last season, I scored my first two career touchdowns in the homecoming game. I’m also proud of my Presidential Scholarship.

Editor’s note: The football team took home the Northeast Conference title again this year.

What does the future bring?
An MS Accounting at UAlbany and a fifth year of football. A job at a public accounting firm and maybe an entrepreneur some day.
