Education: Bachelors in History and Masters Degree in Public Administration,State University of New York College at Brockport

Professional responsibilities: Kevin O’Connor is Chief Executive Officer and cofounder of Tech Valley Communications, the first and only locally owned and operated competitive local exchange carrier in New York’s Capital Region.  In this capacity Mr. O’Connor oversees the day to day company operations and has company wide profit and loss responsibility. 

Professional advancement: He has changed careers three times over the course of his professional life. Starting out in Government, he worked in various capacities in a number of NY State Agencies and left Government after 12 years as a Deputy Commissioner in the NYS Department of Economic Development. O’Conner was then recruited to run the Center for Economic Growth, a non-profit business supported economic development organization, which he left after 8 years to assume management of Tech Valley Communications, a startup private corporation in the Telecommunications Industry of which I am co-founder and presently the CEO.

Community Involvement: He is involved in a number of not for profit and private corporation boards in various capacities including the Albany Local Development Corporation, Albany Parking Authority, Albany Police and Fire Foundations, Tech Valley Communications, Albany Molecular Research Inc., First Niagara Bank’s Eastern Regional Advisory Board, Fort Orange Club, College of St. Rose and Albany Medical Center Foundation. He lives in Albany with his wife and three children.
