About the School

Beta Alpha Psi

Beta Alpha Psi is a coed international honorary organization for financial information students and professionals, promoting the study and practice of accounting, finance and information systems. The group provides opportunities for self-development, service and association among members and practicing professionals, encouraging ethical, social, and public responsibility.

Beta Alpha Psi was founded in 1919, and has grown to over 200 chapters and 200,000 nationally. The Eta Pi chapter was chartered at the University at Albany in 1990, focusing on the university and surrounding community, while remaining true to its accounting roots.

At the annual Firm Appreciation Volleyball Tournament, students interact with prestigious firms in a social environment. The chapter also brings accounting firms to campus to recruit School of Business students. Other activities include speeches and panel discussions by students, faculty and professionals; field trips; business meetings; and service and social activities.
