Dean’s Message
Thank you for visiting the University at Albany School of Business' web
site. For more than thirty years, our degree programs have been
providing students with quality instruction and hands-on educational
experiences that have both launched successful careers and also expanded
professional opportunities. Though this quality does come at a cost, I'm
happy to report that a degree from the University at Albany is among the
most affordable in the country. In an era of constantly rising tuition
costs, high quality and affordability make for an unbeatable
combination. That's why choosing to study business at UAlbany makes good
business sense!
The School of Business offers undergraduate and graduate programs with a
special emphasis on information technology. You will begin by learning
the fundamentals of business, and as you move forward in your education,
choose to pursue in-depth study in either one or a combination of
available areas, including taxation, finance, information technology
management, human resource information systems, accounting information
systems and marketing. Due to our comprehensive approach, it is not
necessary to have an undergraduate degree in business to study for an
MBA or two-year MS in accounting at the University at Albany.
Our faculty is committed not only to laying the foundation of business
knowledge, but also to enhancing your understanding of these principles
through applied experience with actual clients with "real world"
challenges. This combination enables you to develop the professional
skills and abilities most valued in the business arena.
I hope the information you'll find as you explore our web site is
helpful in choosing the school that is right for you, and I encourage
you to contact us if you have specific questions that we have not
covered on this site. We're confident that the more you learn about our
programs, the more you'll know that a University at Albany School of
Business education may be the best investment you will ever make.
