Full-Time MBA: Concentrations
Students' concentrations are built from 4 specialized courses and a year-long field research project with a focus on information technology. The core deliverables of these projects can be systems design and development, human resources information systems, marketing, financial analysis or production. Students choose from one of the following concentrations:
Information Technology Management: Students in this concentration learn to manage the information resources of an organization and to use information technology to store, process, and communicate that information. The program integrates computer technology, management science, expert systems, and decision support courses with a field project. Recent projects have included executive information systems for top managers in both the public and private sectors; expert systems for financial services and product engineering; financial database design; and development of decision support systems for planning and control. Human Resource Information Systems: This concentration blends a comprehensive education in human resource management and consulting skills with information systems. Courses focus on human resource theory and practice, effective application of information systems, and leading skills. Projects focus on areas such as total quality management, human resource information systems, compensation and benefits, training and development, applying emerging technologies and organizational change and development.
