About the School

Dean's Leadership Council

Mission Statement

To serve as ambassadors of the University at Albany School of Business through advocacy, networking, and communication in an effort to foster a sense of community, pride, and tradition amongst all.

In true business fashion, in March of 2005, a group of School of Business students met with Dean Paul Leonard to discuss improving communication within the school. As a result, the Dean's Leadership Council was formed, a consortium of the student groups within the school that the Dean utilizes as a student advisory group. The goal: Enhance the sense of community throughout the School of Business.

Besides facilitating the exchange of ideas between School of Business groups, the DLC assist in helping new students adjust, and have initiated plans for an undergrad lounge in the Business Administration Building. The next step: open new lines of communication within the School of Business community through the implementation of a WebCT pilot program to supplement the WebCT program already used on campus.

Members of the DLC include three coed fraternities and The Accounting Club and the American Marketing Association, all of which offer meetings and occasions for self-development, community service, networking and fun.
