Biography

Mark Hughes is the Director of Accounting Programs and a lecturer at the University at Albany. He teaches undergraduate and graduate-level accounting, audit, and strategic management classes. His diverse background includes experience as a tax accountant, general manager of a local not-for-profit arts organization, public speaking instructor, volunteer minister, church music director, piano teacher, arranger-composer, and owner of a local personal service business.

 

Research Interests

Entrepreneurship, use of natural language processing (NLP) in accounting and auditing, micro-business management, social implications of accounting, tax, and audit regulations, and accounting and management pedagogy.
