$200,000 Software Donation to School of Business

In the fine tradition of School of Business alumni support, Nick MacIlvaine ’93,’95, Product Sales Manager, and Dan Primavera ’94, ‘96, Solutions Architect, both of SuccessFactors of San Mateo, California facilitated a $200,000 donation of cloud-based human resource information systems software for the use of MBA students.

Since their graduation in the 1990s, the pair had guest lectured to School of Business classes; the donation came about as a result of a chance meeting at the 2011 International Human Resource Information Management conference. Primavera and Associate Professor of Management Rich Johnson connected, and then brought MacIlvaine in. MacIlvaine said, “I urged SuccessFactors to make the donation, and the company agreed.  The University at Albany is the only university to receive such a donation, and SuccessFactors plans to continue the program.”

MacIlvaine and Primavera not only facilitated the donation, but managed and evaluated a student project using the software, and advised students on career tracks. The project is expected to continue in the 2012-2013 school year. More information on the University at Albany MBA Programs.
