    The new School of Business building brings more opportunities to the school and the university. The Massry family recognized the greatness and potential of the school when they made a $5.25 million donation and put their name on the building.

  • Siegel Named Fellow of the Academy of Management

     Professor of management and former dean of the School of Business, Donald Siegel, has been elected a Fellow of the Academy of Management, an honor bestowed on fewer than 1% of the academy’s 20,000 members.

     Spring commencement included many first generation college students, including student speaker Rosa Bautitista '16 and alumna speaker Joan Solotar '86, senior managing director at Blackstone Group.

    As a first-generation immigrant, I truly appreciate the value of opportunity. My mother sacrificed her land, her home, her people so that I may have the chance to go to college. When I was a kid I made a promise: I would make it worth her sacrifice. Here we are today. Mami, Gracias.

  • UAlbany Friendships Last Forever

    The boy was four years old. His father was in prison and his mother was addicted to drugs. Almost every morning he crossed the street to visit his neighbors, students Stephen Stabile ‘01 and William Bott ’01, at their pseudo-fraternity-house in Pine Hills, sometimes with a note, “Can you watch Jamel today?” The 20-year-olds fed him, read to him, taught him how to write and took him to school.
