Development Priorities

The UAlbany School of Business features exceptional undergraduate and graduate programs, pioneering faculty research, and promotes the ethical and global pursuit of business opportunity for students and alumni. Our priorities reflect the needs of a leading school of business.

With your support of our Campaign for UAlbany’s School of Business and our unrestricted Dean's Initiative for Academic Excellence, the following initiatives will be implemented:

First-Rate Academics

At the undergraduate level, the School will develop Honors and highly selective programs in Accounting and Business Administration, featuring smaller class sizes, mentoring and/or internship possibilities, and consulting-type projects for business for our students.

Our MBA programs for working professionals will expand elective tracks and increase networking opportunities for students and alumni. The full-time MBA curriculum will be restructured to provide further emphasis on working with teams, and promoting professionalism and communication skills for our graduates.

The Organizational Studies doctoral program will be enhanced with more competitive stipends.

Increased Student Services

Career services activities will be augmented through

  • Career and talent assessment;
  • Resume writing;
  • Interviewing skills, workshops and videotaped mock interviews.

Corporate recruitment efforts will be enhanced through

  • Increasing the number of recruiters and companies interviewing our students on and off campus;
  • Providing a professional interface and support to recruiters and companies recruiting on campus;
  • Providing professional support for student-driven career planning and job search options.

Enhanced Faculty Support

The School seeks to increase the amount of funding for research, instructional innovation and professional development for faculty members. Additional funds will allow the School to establish endowed professorships in each of the School’s academic departments.

New Building Improvements

The new School of Business building will house 8 to 10 new classrooms and flexible workspace, faculty offices, student service suites, computer labs, project rooms and community areas, and will feature state-of-the-technology.
