Biography:Shawn Bushway is a Professor of Criminal Justice and Professor of Public Administration and Policy at University at Albany. He has a Ph.D. in Public Policy Analysis and Political Economy from Carnegie Mellon University. He taught at University of Maryland for ten years before he joined the faculty at Albany. Professor Bushway's research interest includes sentencing and criminal justice process, economy and crime, and life-course theory. He authored extensively on these topics. He also taught a variety of courses including statistics, research design, economics and crime, and crime and public policy. Professor Bushway's current projects include a test of bargaining in the shadow of the trial (with Dr. Allison Redlich) and a test of the true impact of voluntary guidelines on judicial decision making.
