Undergraduate Degrees in
Biological Sciences at UAlbany

The Biological Sciences Department at the University at Albany offers three unique undergraduate degree programs:

Provides a strong background for further study either in graduate school or medicine and prepares the student for secondary school teaching and a variety of careers in biology at the technical level.

The Bachelor of Arts program is intended for the student who wants to combine an interest in liberal arts or fine arts with a major in Biology. The degree is not intended for students who plan to follow a career as a professional biologist or science teacher.

The Biochemistry and Molecular Biology concentration is designed for students interested in these rapidly developing fields of science. Students with training in these fields can pursue careers as researchers in academic or industrial settings or they can pursue further study in graduate or professional schools.
