The general Master's Degree in Biological Sciences is intended for students who have an existing collaboration with a UAlbany faculty member and do not wish to commit to the full Ph.D. program.
An application to the general master's program will not be considered unless the applicant has a commitment from a faculty member who will oversee and support work towards the degree. Students should consult with faculty before making formal application to the program.
Since a master's degree is not required, students wishing to pursue a doctoral degree should apply directly to the Ph.D. program.
The M.S. degree programs in Forensic Biology and Biodiversity, Conservation and Policy are specialized programs that do not require a prior faculty commitment.
