Transmission Electron Microscopy
The Facility contains
a Zeiss 902 Transmission Electron Microscope. This instrument is an 80 kV
turbomolecular pumped TEM equipped with an in-column imaging electron energy
loss spectrometer, low dose imaging kit, computer-controlled goniometer (±
60 degrees) specimen stage. The EM902 has a plate film camera and an attached
video camera.
The Facility has specimen preparation apparatus such as ultramicrotomes, diamond knives, glass knife makers, evaporators, sputter coaters, critical point dryer, Specimen preparation work areas are maintained in the EM lab suite.
For information about the capabilities and use of this instrument, contact Dr. Jeff Travis at the Department of Biological Sciences.
