LASER - Light source which, with AOTF, provides one or more laser lines for excitation; available lines are 458, 477, 488, 514, 543 and 633.
HFT - Main dichroic reflects the excitation line to the prep and allows emitted light to pass and thus reach the detectors.
NFT - Secondary dichroics that reflect some wavelengths and pass others: NFT490 would pass light above 490nm and reflect all below, NFT KP545 would pass light below (kurz=short) and reflect light above. A mirror at the NFT reflects all light (or the designated %).
FIL - Emission filters that can be KP (short pass), BP (band Pass) or LP (long pass).
DET - Photomultiplier tubes that detect the light reaching them. Additional detectors that allow imaging of transmitted light for DIC and that allow monitoring the laser are available but not shown.
META DETECTOR - An array of PMTs that allows sampling of all wavelenths simultaneously.
