New faculty For fall 2007

Dr. Kurt McKean has most recently been a Postdoctoral Fellow at Cornell University. His areas of interest include evolutionary and ecological immunology, and evolution of pathogen virulence.

Gonder & ChimpDr. Katy Gonder has most recently been a Faculty Research Associate at the University of Maryland. Her research interests include comparative human and non-human primate evolutionary genetics, primate biogeography and primate behavior and ecology with a special interest in African biodiversity. Her research on African Chimpanzeees was recently featured in Campus News.

Dr. Haijun Chen has most recently been a researcher at Yale Medical School. He is interested in the molecular properties of channels and signalling in the cell membrane. Dr. Chen was recently featured in an American Heart Association campaign.

Paul C. Lemon Dissertation Award

The Paul C Lemon Award honors a dissertation relevant to environmental sciences. Dr. Diana Weber was honored for her work on the effects of population declines on genetic variation in marine mammals. She is currently at the American Museum of Natural History.
