  Understanding "Related Components"
What is a related component?
A related component is the lecture that accompanies a required laboratory or discussion section. You must first register for the lab or discussion; then register for the related component (lecture).
 
Adding a class with a discussion or laboratory section.
  1. First, enter the class number for the discussion or lab section on the Add Classes page.
  2. Press the TAB key. Another window will open.
  3. Enter the Lecture class number in the box labeled Related Component 1. Click on OK.
  4. This will return you to the Add Classes page.
  5. Click Submit.
 
Adding a class with a discussion or laboratory section requiring a Permission Number.
  1. First, enter the class number for the discussion or lab section on the Add Classes page.
  2. Press the TAB key. Another window will open.
  3. Enter the Lecture class number in the box labeled "Related Component 1".
  4. Enter the permission number in the box labeled "Class Permission Number".
  5. Click on OK. This will return you to the Add Classes page.
  6. Click Submit.
