Geographic Information Systems

With the recognition that keeping on top of current technologies leads our graduates to sound positions within the workforce, many of our students choose to take courses in Geographical Information System and Spatial Analysis through the Geography and Planning Department. The Geography Department offers several different courses through their faculty as well as adjunct faculty that have positions in the GIS work community. A graduate certificate may be obtained and is encouraged while completing your course work for the Biodiversity, Conservation, and Policy degree. Many of our students' thesis research projects incorporate GIS in some capacity, and some of our students choose thesis committee members from the Geography Department.
