Michelle Thornhill received a Bachelor of Arts degree in psychology and a Master's degree in Educational Psychology from the University at Albany, SUNY. As an undergraduate, she worked as a research assistant at the Center for Autism and Related Disabilities (CARD) studying Autism Spectrum Disorders and the effects that having a child with ASD has among families in the surrounding Capital District. Michelle’s professional experience includes working at Ellis Hospital in Schenectady, N.Y. as a mental health assistant in the inpatient psychiatric facilities. While at Ellis she has had training in crisis intervention and de-escalation techniques. Michelle has experience working with adults and adolescents who have a broad range of psychiatric disabilities, such as bipolar disorder, mood disorders, personality disorders, conduct disorders, emotional behavioral disorders and Autism Spectrum Disorders. She is currently a graduate student in the School Psychology Certificate of Advanced Study program at the University at Albany, SUNY.
