There are a number of career fairs offered at UAlbany that are appropriate for recent alumni and students. Career Services hosts a large career fair in February in the SEFCU arena that attracts more than 100 employers. Delta Sigma Pi and Career Services also sponsor another fair in September. This day-long event involves more than 70 employers. Both fairs are open to students in all majors and alumni. The SUNY State-Wide Job Fair, usually held in April at a SUNY institution, attracts more than 100 employers to discuss full-time, intern and co-op opportunities with SUNY students and alumni. For more information, contact Career Services at (518) 437-4900.
Reference files can be established to house reference letters only for University at Albany students or alumni for the following reasons: application requests for K-12 and University administrative and teaching positions; and candidates seeking entrance into graduate and professional school programs. Career Services does not retain reference letters indefinitely. Reference files will be retained for five years after you open the file or five years after date of last use of the file. For more details on reference files, visit the Career Services Web site.
The library, housed in Career Services, contains books, video cassettes, newspapers, periodicals, a job vacancy file and an internship file which provide information to support the career planning process and the job search. The collection includes information on trends, salaries and employment outlooks. Call (518) 442-4900 for more details.
