University Hall
University Art Museum Director Janet Riker will conduct a tour of selections from the
University at Albany art collections located in University Hall. University Hall, the
newest building on campus, was designed by Robert Siegel of the renowned
Gwathmey Siegel Architects. The building’s three floors feature over 175 works of
art, including works created by some of the most celebrated artists of the twentieth
century, as well as by our own talented students, faculty and alumni. In addition,
the ground floor of University Hall includes an exhibition about campus architect
Edward Durell Stone, which features photographs of some of his most famous buildings, an aerial view of the campus and photo-collage of student life in a modernist architectural masterpiece. Registration closed. Free (Limit to 15).

Gen*NY*sis Center for Excellence in Cancer Genomics Guided Tour
East Campus
The $45 million, 113,000 square foot building is the only building dedicated to
cancer research in the region. Its mission is to conduct cutting-edge research that
can be directly applied to patient care. The Center has one of the country’s most
comprehensive core facilities, providing researchers with molecular biology,
proteomics, microarray, mouse transgenics, laser capture microdissection,
flow cytometry, cell sorting, and bioinformatics services. Bus transportation

Empire Commons is one of two apartment complexes that make up the University
Apartments the other being Freedom Apartments. Empire Commons, which opened
