Dear Fellow Alumni:

I rowed for the University of Albany…there aren’t too many people who share that background. About 350. Some of us still row. Some of us work in rowing related jobs. Some of us like to think about our days of rowing.

On Saturday, April 23rd, our alma mater will be racing at the Glenn Island regatta site in New Rochelle, NY and I would like you to be there. The location isn’t fancy. The rowing will be rough, and hopefully the day will be sunny and warm. I guarantee there will be an alumni tent with food and fun.

Directions to the event are below, and I hope to see you all there. RSVP to my email so I know how much food to bring. If you can’t make it, drop me an email so we know how to reach you for the fall event.

What: Albany Rowing Team Alumni Get Together
When: Saturday, 23 April: 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
Where: Metropolitan Championships, New Rochelle, NY – tent site near finish line
Why: Because we all rowed someplace where there weren’t Albany fans to cheer for us!

Directions:

• 87S/287E to 287E(Cross Westchester Expressway)
• 287E to I-95 South(New England Thruway
• I-95 South to Route 1, New Rochelle exit
• Exit onto Route 1 going North (exit left)
• Follow to first light (Weyman Ave, right after Home Depot)
• Make right onto Weyman Avenue and follow until the end.
• Go over bridge to Glen Island. This is where the team launches from!

Directions to Orchard Beach, Finish Line (Alumni Tent):

• From Glen Island, leave Glen Island, make left at first traffic light (Pelham Road).
• Pelham Road continues into Shore Road which is parallel to the rowing course.
• At the traffic circle, follow signs to Orchard Beach.
• From Route 95, exit at Orchard Beach and follow signs.

We will have the tent along the last 500 meters of the course. Be sure to park in the parking lot; the police readily give out tickets otherwise.
