Alumni Volunteer Council

Classes

Councilors represent the views and needs of alumni to the University administration and community and are responsible for sharing information about the University with their classmates through class newsletters, electronic communication and personal contacts. Each class is represented by one to three councilors elected by the class during its milestone reunion (10th, 25th, 40th, 50th and 50+).

Councilors are responsible for planning class activities, such as reunions, and for encouraging participation at other alumni events, such as Homecoming and the Big Purple Growl. Councilors automatically become members of the Alumni Volunteer Council, an umbrella organization for all UAlbany volunteers. If you are interested in volunteering as a councilor or to help with class activities, contact your class councilor or the Alumni Association office at 518-442-3080.
