| Michael VanPatten joined the New York
Army National Guard in 1965 as a private. He rose through the ranks
to become Major General of the NYS Army National Guard in early 2000.
In his new position, he commands nearly 12,000 soldiers in units throughout
the state in early 2000. He graduated from the University at Albany
in 1972. |
