Robert E. Sorensen was a student at Albany from September 1944 until he enlisted in the US Navy in January 1945. He served in the Navy until September 1946. In February 1947, he returned to Albany to complete his freshman year, and remained until June 1948, completing two years at State. He then left Albany to attended podiatry college, having completed the required science classes and hoping to make the most of his benefits from the GI Bill.
