Walter M. Russ, class of 1939, served in the US Army from February 1942 to December 1945. Following his discharge form the Army, he joined the Army Reserve, in which he served until June 30, 1947. In July, he joined the Massachusetts Nation Guard and served for 30 there for 30 years before his retirement in June 1977.
