| William S. Rooney served in the Medical
Service Corps of the Army Reserves while a professor at the School
of Social Welfare. From September 1962 to August 1965, he acted as
Social Work Consultant to the Surgeon General and as Social Service
Consultant, Consultant Division, Psychiatry and Neurology Consultant
Branch, Directorate of Professional Service, Office of the Surgeon
General, Headquarters, Department of the Army. For his meritorious
service in these positions, he was awarded the Legion of Merit in
November 1965. |
