| James Leonard was called into service
from the inactive reserves in March of 1951 as a 2nd Lt. Infantry.
He served at Indiantown Gap Military Reservation in Pennsylvania as
an M-1 Rifle Instructor. After receiving combat officers' training
at Ft. Benning , Georgia, he was transferred to Korea where he served
as a front-line Infantry Platoon Leader and was promoted to 1st Lt..
His awards are the Combat Infantry Badge and the Bronze Star.
Leonard's career at the University at Albany began in 1956. He
retired in 1989 as a Professor in the Department of Theatre.
